Ladies and gentlemen,
Dear rally friends,
Welcome to Rally Sweden and to Umeå!
It is great to be back. I am looking forward to take part in Rally Sweden and this year’s action.
The conditions couldn’t be better – lots of snow, excited drivers, and of course a fantastic audience!
What makes rally so special?
For me, I think it’s the collaboration between the driver and the co-driver in its highest level – both individually and with the team.
It sometimes seems like the car is dancing in the woods, following the road’s turns and crests.
Both driver and co-driver need to follow their intuition, but they also must trust each other and follow each other’s leads.
That is the beauty of rally and that is why it’s so special.
This race is fast, it’s challenging, it gives us spectators many possibilities to get close to the action. It’s going to be fantastic days – I can guarantee you!
I am really looking forward to seeing all the rally drivers and teams trying to do their very best out on the winter roads.
