Lilian, Princess of Sweden, Duchess of Halland, was born on 30 August 1915 in Wales.She married the current King's uncle, Prince Bertil, on 7 December 1976 at Drottningholm Palace Chapel. Prince Bertil died on 5 January 1997.
Princess Lilian fulfils a number of duties that were previously the responsibility of Prince Bertil, particularly in the field of sport.
